Each student musician accepted onto the roster of either the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra, Murfreesboro Youth Jazz Orchestra, or the Preparatory String Orchestra is required to pay tuition annually for every season they remain a member in good standing.
The MYO Board of Directors makes every effort to keep total tuition costs as affordable as possible to insure that every qualified student has an opportunity for the training, education and performance experiences only the MYO can provide. Our professional staff, each holding multiple degrees and possessing years of experience, is fully capable of providing musical experiences for your child. Click here to meet our staff.

You may choose to pay the full amount Thursday, September 1st; or pay at least $50 at the first rehearsal of each month until your balance declines to zero. We will deduct that amount from the member's tuition balance. The member will receive a monthly email updating his/her account. Tuition is due in full at rehearsal December 15th.
To assist you with paying tuition we are offering everyone the opportunity to earn money towards tuition. By working various fundraisers you may earn money towards your tuition balance. MYO/PSO members, parents, family members or friends may work for MYO and PSO members. The Blackman High School Band has generously offered to allow us to join them in filling positions at fundraisers. Click here to find a list of dates when you can sign up to work. Please send a list of dates and the number of people who can work those dates to Lee Robinson (blackmanband@yahoo.com). There is no guarantee you will be asked to work the dates you requested. However, the sooner you send in your dates, the better your chance of being asked to work. Occasionally an event that is not on the attached list will be announced through email. If you can work the event, I encourage you to contact Lee as soon as possible. There will be carpooling to many events. Meeting times and places will be determined by Lee Robinson.
Tuition discounts are available for families with more than one child in our orchestras. The discount is applied after the highest applicable tuition fee is applied to the first family member. The second child receives a 20% discount off the next highest tuition amount. The third and following family member(s) receive a 30% discount off the next highest tuition fee. Discounts beyond 30% are unavailable.

The MYO does not accept credit cards. Payment for tuition may be made by cash or check, made payable to MYO.
Students may be admitted to the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra, Murfreesboro Youth Jazz Orchestra, or the Preparatory String Orchestra at the beginning of the second concert cycle under the following conditions:
- an opening has been declared by the Conductor
- the student successfully passes the required audition
Students admitted to membership in either orchestra will have their tuition prorated as follows:

Payment of prorated tuition is due in full upon admission to any of the orchestras.
While MYO and PSO tuition rates are among the lowest anywhere, we realize that the lowest rates are sometimes too much for some families to pay. From time to time funding is available to provide partial Tuition Scholarships. We regret that at the present time funding for this is not available. Other fees may be incurred by your student if they apply for and/or are accepted in one or more of the following honor groups and competitions. All competitions listed below which are sponsored by the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association are set by that organization. The MYO does not add to this fee, but simply collects it and passes it on to that organization for each student auditioning or selected for participation. Please make checks payable to MYO.
